Our vision is for a more sustainable, equitable, and joyful Sault Ste Marie where youth are deeply engaged with problem-solving and civic leadership.to build a thriving community.

Our mission is to inspire, connect and mobilize students, faculty, and the city to collaborate and inspire youth-led action in the community and government.

Benefits of CityStudio

Students:

City Studio provides interesting and relevant work-integrated experiential learning opportunities. Student participants will gain practical skills, problem-solving, and real world experiences to enhance employability while earning credits towards their degree.

 

Faculty:

City Studio allows Faculty to add relevant and engaging opportunities into their courses to deepen the learning experience for students. Access to practical and complex city projects, networking with city staff, and professional skill development are only a few of the benefits CityStudio has to offer Algoma U Faculty.

 

 

 

City of Sault Ste. Marie Staff:

City staff are able to use CityStudio to gain access to student experiments, research and prototypes that meet city strategies and goals. Our partnership provides them with assistance in moving projects forward and addressing challenges that may not have attention and resources prior to the collaboration. 

 

Sault Ste. Marie Community:

CityStudio creates unique benefits for Sault Ste.Marie through each project and has created a city-wide network for new forms of community engagement. All CityStudio collaborators are stakeholders and stewards for uplifting our community and working together to create a positive impact.
